Founding Board Members

Dr. John Freeh

Dr. Helen Freeh



 John Freeh has a BA in English and Political Philosophy and his MA in English from Georgetown, an MSJ from Northwestern Journalism School, and his D.Phil from St. Catherine's College, Oxford. He has worked as a professional journalist for the AP and the Cleveland Plain Dealer.  He also has worked in academia for the past 20 years at Oxford, Gonzaga, Seton Hall, Franciscan, Hillsdale College and Wyoming Catholic College.  Most recently he served as the inaugural director of the Newman Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture in Lincoln, Nebraska.   

    Helen Freeh holds a BA in Politics and Masters of American Studies from the University of Dallas, and her PhD in English Literature from Baylor University.  She has worked as a professional in the mortgage industry and also as a manuscript editor for Baylor University Press.  She has taught at Baylor University, McClennan Community College, Hillsdale Academy and Hillsdale College before taking "early retirement" to raise John's and her three beautiful children, Theresa, Joseph, and John Paul.  She also has taught as an adjunct for the Newman Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture and is an occasional contributor to The Catholic Thing.
