Dr. Helen Freeh published a short article in The Imaginative Conservative on the difference between the Catholic Liberal Arts curriculum and the secular classical school model — the latter must remove the essential role of Christ from the curriculum to satisfy state demands. Although Helen’s focus is on the K-12 curricula, her argument also applies to the college level and Catholic colleges like Kateri. A Catholic Christian environment positively effects the whole learning environment of a student whether he or she is 5 or 18 or 25 years old.
